Hello readers!

I'm going to be blogging about writing and posting my book reviews over here. Here you can find transcripts of my Instagram posts and deeper reviews of the books I feature in my one-minute reviews.

A Re-Introduction

Some of you met me through my work with Femme Feminism, a site I hope to resurrect one day, others found me through my feminist writing around the web or my novel. I can't say much about that except that I'm not legally allowed to write about certain subjects anymore, so I've returned to my first love. Fiction.

I've been reading fantasy and sci-fi novels since I was in elementary school, and have a deep love of the genre. Which is why I decided that I'd only cover this genre on my blog. As well, for now I'm only reviewing books by female and non-binary authors (as they're notoriously unrepresented in traditional book reviewing). Each month I'm covering:

- A throwback novel published more than ten years ago

- At least one novel by an author of color

- A standalone (for when you don't want to commit weeks of your like to a series)

- And a series, for when you do!

Introductory Vlog

You can head on over to Instagram to watch the video, or click "play" below. It explains more about what I'll be doing. Transcript is below the video for the hearing-impaired.

Hi! I thought I’d let my followers know about some changes I’m going to make on my Instagram in the upcoming months.

Each week, I’m going to be doing one-minute book reviews of a fantasy, sci-fi, or historical fiction novel. I’ve been hooked on these genres ever since elementary school when my grandmother gave me Tamora Pierce’s Song of the Lioness books. I think she wanted me to grow up to be a strong heroine.

My reviews will cover the usual stuff, but at the end of each review I’m also going to let you know if the book has any:

Queer representation

POC as characters

And feminist content

Because I think this matters to my followers, and it matters to me.

Each month, I’m also going to review at least one book by an author of color, one throwback book that was published more than ten years ago, a standalone novel, and a series. I know this is new, but I hope that you’ll follow along in exploring new fictional worlds with me.
